We are seeking a dedicated and hardworking Material Handler to join our dynamic logistics team in Houston, Texas. This role is crucial for the efficient movement of goods within our warehouse. The Material Handler will be responsible for receiving, unloading, moving, staging, and shipping materials. This involves operating various warehouse equipment, including pallet jacks and forklifts (if certified and trained), to transport items safely and accurately. You will play a key part in maintaining an organized and productive work environment, ensuring that all materials are handled with care and efficiency. Compliance with all safety regulations and company policies is paramount. This position offers a competitive hourly wage and opportunities for advancement within our growing logistics network. Strong attention to detail and a commitment to safety are essential. The ideal candidate will have prior experience in a warehouse setting and a solid understanding of material handling procedures. Responsibilities:
- Load and unload materials from trucks and containers.
- Operate pallet jacks, forklifts (if certified), and other material handling equipment.
- Move materials to designated storage areas or production lines.
- Assist with inventory counts and reconciliation.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area, adhering to safety standards.
- Inspect equipment before use and report any issues.
- Ensure proper labeling and stacking of materials.
- Adhere to all company safety policies and procedures, including the use of appropriate PPE.
Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Previous experience in a warehouse or logistics environment preferred.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs regularly.
- Familiarity with warehouse equipment.
- Strong understanding of safety procedures and the importance of PPE.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Excellent work ethic and reliability.
- Must be able to stand, walk, bend, and stoop for extended periods.
