We are seeking a diligent and detail-oriented Receiving Clerk to join our dynamic logistics team in Raleigh, North Carolina. In this role, you will be the first point of contact for incoming shipments, ensuring accuracy and efficiency in the receiving process. Your responsibilities will include unloading trucks, verifying incoming goods against purchase orders and shipping documents, inspecting items for damage, and accurately documenting all received inventory. You will also be responsible for organizing and staging received goods for further processing within the warehouse. Strong attention to detail and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment are crucial for success. This position requires adherence to strict safety protocols and the proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE). You will work closely with inventory control and other warehouse personnel to maintain optimal stock levels and prevent discrepancies. The ideal candidate will have excellent organizational skills and a commitment to maintaining a safe and efficient workflow. This role offers a great opportunity to contribute to the seamless operation of our distribution center and develop your career in logistics. Experience with warehouse management systems is a plus, but not required. We value teamwork and a proactive approach to problem-solving. The ability to lift up to 50 pounds regularly is essential for this role, and all lifting will be performed with proper techniques to ensure safety.
Responsibilities:
- Unload incoming freight accurately and efficiently.
- Verify shipments against purchase orders and packing slips.
- Inspect goods for any damage or discrepancies.
- Accurately record received items into the inventory system.
- Stage received goods for put-away or further processing.
- Maintain a clean and organized receiving area.
- Adhere to all company safety policies and procedures, including the mandatory use of PPE.
- Communicate effectively with suppliers, drivers, and internal teams.
- Assist with inventory counts and reconciliation as needed.
