Our Omaha, Nebraska facility is seeking an experienced Forklift Operator! This critical role ensures the safe and efficient movement of materials throughout our warehouse. As a Forklift Operator, you will be responsible for operating various types of forklifts to load, unload, transport, and stack goods. Your commitment to safety, adherence to operational procedures, and skill in equipment operation are essential. Responsibilities:
- Safely operate forklifts, reach trucks, and other powered industrial trucks.
- Load and unload palletized or bulk materials from trailers, rail cars, or drugih vehicles.
- Transport materials to and from storage areas, production lines, or shipping docks.
- Perform pre-operation inspections of forklifts and report any defects or maintenance needs.
- Stack and stage materials according to company guidelines and safety regulations.
- Assist with inventory management, cycle counts, and physical stock takes.
- Maintain a clean and organized workspace, free from hazards.
- Strictly adhere to all safety protocols, including the mandatory use of PPE.
- Collaborate with warehouse team members to optimize workflow and logistics.
- Participate in ongoing training to enhance skills and knowledge of safety procedures.
Qualifications:
- Valid forklift operator certification and demonstrated proficiency.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience operating forklifts in a warehouse or distribution setting.
- Ability to lift and move items weighing up to 50 pounds.
- In-depth knowledge of warehouse safety procedures and best practices.
- Familiarity with various types of forklifts and material handling equipment.
- Strong sense of responsibility and attention to detail.
- Ability to work effectively in a dynamic and demanding logistics environment.
- Must comply with all PPE requirements.
- Good communication and teamwork skills.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
