We are actively recruiting for a Material Handler at our busy warehouse in Huntsville, Alabama. This position is vital to the smooth operation of our logistics department, focusing on the efficient and safe movement of goods within the facility. Responsibilities include receiving and unloading materials, transporting them to appropriate storage locations, picking and preparing orders for dispatch, and loading outbound shipments. The successful candidate will be adept at operating various material handling equipment, possess a strong commitment to safety protocols, and be able to contribute positively in a team-oriented environment. Responsibilities:
- Receive, unload, and verify incoming shipments.
- Operate forklifts, pallet jacks, and other machinery for material handling.
- Move materials to and from designated storage areas efficiently.
- Pick and pack items for outgoing orders accurately.
- Load and unload delivery trucks.
- Maintain a clean, orderly, and safe workspace, following all company guidelines.
- Conduct daily checks on material handling equipment and report any necessary repairs.
- Assist with inventory management tasks, including cycle counts.
- Strictly follow all safety procedures, including the mandatory use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
- Collaborate with colleagues and supervisors to meet daily logistics targets.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Prior experience as a Material Handler or in a similar warehouse role is highly desirable.
- Proficiency in operating forklifts and other warehouse equipment is a significant advantage.
- Ability to perform strenuous physical activities, including frequent lifting up to 50 pounds, and extended periods of standing and walking.
- Knowledge of warehouse safety procedures and best practices.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
- Reliability and a strong commitment to punctuality.
- Understanding of basic logistics principles.
