We are looking for an efficient and organized Shipping Clerk to join our logistics team in Orlando, Florida. This role is responsible for managing the preparation and processing of outgoing shipments. You will ensure that all packages are accurately documented, labeled, and dispatched in a timely manner, meeting all carrier and customer requirements. A strong understanding of shipping procedures, attention to detail, and a commitment to safety are essential. If you are a motivated individual with excellent administrative skills and a desire to contribute to smooth operations, this position is ideal for you.
Responsibilities:
- Prepare and process all outgoing shipments, ensuring accuracy and completeness.
- Verify shipping information and select appropriate shipping methods and carriers.
- Generate shipping labels and necessary documentation, such as bills of lading.
- Coordinate with carriers for pickup and delivery schedules.
- Inspect outgoing packages to ensure they are properly packed and secured.
- Maintain accurate shipping records and logs within the system.
- Communicate with internal departments and external customers regarding shipment status.
- Adhere to all company safety policies and procedures, including the proper use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
- Assist with organizing the shipping area to maintain an efficient workflow.
- Tasks may involve some physical handling and Lifting of packages.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Previous experience in shipping, logistics, or a related administrative role is preferred.
- Proficiency with shipping software and carrier portals.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy in data entry and documentation.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Familiarity with warehouse and logistics operations.
- Must be able to lift up to 25 pounds occasionally.
- Commitment to maintaining a safe and efficient work environment.
