Our Nashville, Tennessee location is seeking an experienced Forklift Operator to join our dedicated team. In this role, you will be instrumental in managing the movement of goods within our distribution center, ensuring operational efficiency and product integrity. You will operate forklifts to load and unload trucks, move materials to storage, and retrieve items for orders. Safety is paramount; therefore, strict adherence to all safety protocols and the consistent use of appropriate PPE are non-negotiable. This position requires precision, attention to detail, and the ability to handle various materials. Responsibilities:
- Safely operate forklifts to move, stack, and unstack pallets and materials.
- Load and unload freight from trucks and trailers with accuracy and efficiency.
- Transport materials to and from designated storage areas.
- Perform routine inspections and maintenance checks on forklifts.
- Maintain accurate inventory records and assist with cycle counts.
- Adhere to all warehouse safety guidelines and company policies, including the mandatory use of PPE.
- Work collaboratively with other team members to ensure smooth logistics flow.
- Report any safety hazards or equipment issues immediately.
- Be prepared for tasks involving lifting and manual handling when necessary.
- Ensure efficient and organized workflow within the warehouse.
Qualifications:
- Valid forklift operator certification and demonstrated experience.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience operating forklifts in a warehouse or distribution center setting.
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
- Solid understanding of warehouse safety procedures and best practices.
- Excellent hand-eye coordination and spatial awareness.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet performance targets.
- Commitment to wearing required PPE.
- Strong communication skills and ability to work effectively in a team.
- Reliable and punctual with a strong work ethic.
