We are hiring a skilled Forklift Operator for our busy warehouse in Detroit, Michigan. The ideal candidate will be proficient in operating various types of forklifts to move, locate, relocate, stack, and count merchandise. Your role is critical in ensuring the efficient flow of materials within our logistics facility. You will be responsible for handling, transporting, and organizing goods, contributing to the overall productivity and safety of our operations. A strong commitment to Safety and adherence to operational procedures is essential.
Responsibilities:
- Operate forklifts safely and efficiently to move materials throughout the warehouse.
- Load and unload trucks, pallets, and other materials.
- Stack and store materials in designated locations.
- Conduct daily pre-operation inspections of forklifts and report any maintenance issues.
- Assist with inventory management and cycle counts.
- Follow all warehouse safety rules and regulations, including the mandatory use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
- Maintain a clean and orderly work area.
- Participate in team meetings and contribute to process improvements within the logistics department.
Qualifications:
- Valid forklift operator certification or license.
- Proven experience operating forklifts in a warehouse environment.
- Knowledge of warehouse operations and logistics principles.
- Ability to perform Lifting of heavy items as part of job duties, often assisted by equipment.
- Strong understanding of Safety procedures and best practices.
- Good hand-eye coordination and physical stamina.
- Reliable and punctual with a strong work ethic.
- Ability to work flexible hours as needed.
