Our Virginia Beach, Virginia location is actively seeking an experienced Forklift Operator to enhance our logistics operations. As a Forklift Operator, you will be responsible for the safe and efficient movement of materials within our warehouse, ensuring products are loaded, unloaded, and stored correctly. This role requires a high degree of precision, a strong understanding of forklift operations, and an unwavering commitment to safety protocols. You will be a critical part of our team, ensuring the smooth flow of goods and maintaining the integrity of our inventory.
Responsibilities:
- Operate forklifts safely and efficiently to move inventory, raw materials, and finished goods.
- Load and unload trucks, ensuring proper weight distribution and security.
- Transport materials to and from various designated areas within the warehouse.
- Stack and arrange products in a safe, stable, and orderly manner.
- Perform daily pre-operation checks on forklifts and report any maintenance needs.
- Adhere strictly to all company safety regulations and utilize appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
- Assist with inventory cycle counts and stocktaking procedures.
- Maintain a clean and hazard-free work area to ensure operational safety.
- Follow all warehouse safety guidelines and logistics best practices.
- Ability to handle substantial lifting and material movement as part of duties.
- Participate in ongoing safety and operational training.
Qualifications:
- Proven experience as a Forklift Operator with a valid certification.
- In-depth knowledge of warehouse safety procedures and forklift operation.
- Ability to perform routine equipment inspections and basic maintenance reporting.
- Skilled in operating various types of forklifts.
- Experience with manual material handling and significant lifting requirements.
- Strong commitment to safety and adherence to PPE guidelines.
- Familiarity with logistics and supply chain operations is highly valued.
- Excellent hand-eye coordination and physical dexterity.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team environment.
- High school diploma or equivalent is preferred.
