We are seeking a diligent Material Handler to join our logistics operations in Indianapolis, Indiana. This role is integral to the smooth functioning of our warehouse, ensuring that materials are moved, stored, and prepared efficiently and safely. You will be responsible for handling a variety of materials, operating material handling equipment, and maintaining an organized workspace. The ideal candidate is reliable, physically capable, and committed to upholding rigorous Safety standards. You will work closely with other warehouse personnel to ensure timely movement of goods and accurate inventory management. This position requires a strong understanding of warehouse procedures and a proactive approach to tasks. Responsibilities include loading and unloading shipments, transporting materials within the facility, and assisting with inventory control. Strict adherence to all Safety regulations, including the mandatory use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), is required. This role involves significant physical activity, including frequent Lifting of items up to 60 pounds and operating various equipment. Experience with forklifts, pallet jacks, and other warehouse machinery is highly advantageous. Become a key contributor to our efficient supply chain operations.
Responsibilities:
- Load and unload materials from trucks and containers.
- Transport materials to and from designated areas within the warehouse.
- Operate forklifts, pallet jacks, and other material handling equipment safely.
- Assist with inventory management and stock rotation.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of work areas.
- Follow all Safety guidelines and procedures.
- Wear required PPE, such as safety glasses, gloves, and steel-toed boots.
- Inspect equipment before use and report any issues.
- Collaborate with team members to ensure efficient material flow.
- Contribute to the overall productivity of the logistics department.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Previous experience as a Material Handler or in a similar warehouse role.
- Proven ability to operate material handling equipment safely.
- Ability to perform heavy Lifting (up to 60 lbs).
- Understanding of warehouse Safety procedures and best practices.
- Commitment to wearing PPE at all times.
- Familiarity with logistics and inventory control concepts.
- Strong work ethic and reliability.
- Ability to work in a physically demanding environment.
- Good communication and teamwork skills.
