We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Shipping & Receiving Associate to join our dynamic logistics team in Boston, Massachusetts. In this role, you will be responsible for the efficient and accurate handling of all incoming and outgoing shipments. This position is crucial to the smooth operation of our warehouse and requires a strong commitment to safety and efficiency. You will work closely with other warehouse staff to ensure inventory accuracy and timely delivery of goods. The ideal candidate will have experience in a warehouse environment and a good understanding of shipping and receiving procedures. Your responsibilities will include verifying incoming shipments against purchase orders, inspecting goods for damage, and preparing outgoing shipments by packaging items securely and accurately labeling them for transport. You will also be responsible for maintaining organized and clean receiving and shipping areas. Adherence to all safety protocols, including the proper use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), is paramount. This role involves significant physical activity, including frequent Lifting of up to 50 pounds. Experience with pallet jacks and basic computer skills for inventory tracking are beneficial. Responsibilities:
- Receive, unload, and inspect incoming shipments.
- Verify quantities and quality of goods against documentation.
- Accurately document all incoming and outgoing inventory.
- Prepare shipments for transit, including packaging and labeling.
- Operate forklifts, pallet jacks, and other warehouse equipment safely.
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment.
- Adhere to all company Safety policies and procedures.
- Proper use of PPE, such as safety glasses, gloves, and steel-toed boots.
- Communicate effectively with team members and supervisors.
- Contribute to overall warehouse efficiency and productivity.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Previous experience in shipping and receiving or warehouse operations preferred.
- Ability to perform heavy Lifting (up to 50 lbs).
- Familiarity with logistics and supply chain processes.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Basic computer proficiency.
- Commitment to workplace Safety.
- Reliable and punctual with a strong work ethic.
