Job Summary:
The Project Manager is responsible for overseeing project-based work across enterprise systems and technology environments in support of our higher education client. The initial primary role is to manage and oversee requirements for the current Student Information System (Workday) and system integrations to maintain operational performance. The Project Manager identifies issues, recommends improvements, and delivers successful project outcomes through strong coordination, problem-solving, and alignment with strategic initiatives. Relevant professional experience within an education IT environment is desired.
Essential Responsibilities:
· Develop and implement long-term strategies for enterprise systems that align with organizational goals and IT roadmap.
· Participate in IT governance, planning, and decision-making processes.
· Lead enterprise-wide technology projects, including system upgrades, migrations, implementations, and integrations.
· Manage project plans, budgets, risks, and resources from initiation through successful completion.
· Coordinate with vendors, consultants, and internal stakeholders to ensure effective system enhancements and integrations.
· Provide leadership and oversight to the IT department’s daily operations, managing resources and ensuring effective delivery of system and application support across initiatives.
· Supervise and develop technical teams through mentoring, performance management, and alignment with technical and organizational standards.
· Foster collaborative, high-performing teams through effective communication, accountability, and coordination.
· Organize and facilitate stakeholder requirement sessions; translate business needs into functional and technical requirements.
· Oversee business analysis activities, data validation, data integration, testing, and system acceptance.
· Monitor system performance, troubleshoot issues, and ensure business continuity through disaster recovery planning.
· Ensure compliance with data security protocols, accessibility standards, and organizational policies.
· Maintain documentation, workflows, and automated processes for system operations and security.
· Communicate regularly with stakeholders and clients, providing updates on project status, risks, and outcomes.
· Develop and implement best practices, tools, and methodologies for effective project and system management.

Qualifications & Skills:
Required:
· Bachelor's degree (B. A. or B.S.) from four-year college or university
· 5+ years of relevant professional experience in IT, business analysis, or project management.
· Experience working within a higher education institution.
· Experience supporting or administering enterprise student information systems (SIS).
· Experience managing a technical department or multi-disciplinary IT team, overseeing personnel, technical operations, and delivery of system and application support.
· Ability to lead, motivate, and develop high-performing technical staff, with a strong understanding of system support functions, technical operations, and application development environments.
· Experience in project management, including medium-to-large-scale projects and system integrations.
· Excellent verbal, written, and presentation communication skills; effective at negotiation and leading productive meetings.
· Ability to manage multiple assignments concurrently and prioritize tasks effectively.
· Experience breaking down complex business processes into workflows and process maps.
· Strong knowledge of relational databases, cloud architecture, and security best practices.
· Proficiency in general office productivity and collaboration tools (word processing, spreadsheets, presentations, email, video conferencing, etc.).
· Demonstrated creativity, problem-solving skills, and effective brainstorming abilities.
Preferred:
· Project management certifications are a plus.
