We are looking for skilled Forklift Operators to join our busy warehouse in Richmond, Virginia. As a Forklift Operator, you will be responsible for safely and efficiently moving materials throughout the warehouse. This role is critical to our logistics chain, ensuring smooth operations and timely movement of goods. You will operate various types of forklifts to load and unload trucks, move pallets, and transport inventory to designated areas. A strong understanding of warehouse safety protocols and proper equipment operation is essential. We emphasize a culture of safety and provide ongoing training to ensure all team members are equipped to perform their duties responsibly. Your role will directly impact the efficiency of our distribution center. Key Responsibilities:
- Operate forklifts (e.g., sit-down, stand-up, reach trucks) to move, stack, and unstack pallets and materials.
- Load and unload trucks and trailers efficiently and safely.
- Transport inventory to and from production, storage, and shipping areas.
- Conduct daily inspections of forklift equipment to ensure it is in safe working order.
- Identify and report any damaged goods or safety hazards.
- Assist with inventory counts and cycle counts as needed.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area.
- Adhere to all safety regulations and company policies, including proper use of PPE.
- Valid forklift operator certification or willingness to obtain one.
- Proven experience operating various types of forklifts.
- Ability to perform physical tasks, including frequent lifting of up to 50 lbs.
- Knowledge of warehouse safety procedures and best practices.
- Must be able to stand, sit, and operate machinery for extended periods.
- Strong attention to detail and awareness of surroundings.
- Must wear appropriate PPE, such as safety vests and steel-toed boots.
- Excellent hand-eye coordination and spatial reasoning.
- Commitment to a safe work environment and logistics efficiency.
