Seeking a skilled Material Handler to join our Des Moines, Iowa operations. This role is critical for the efficient movement of materials throughout our warehouse. You will be responsible for operating various types of equipment to load, unload, transport, and store materials. Responsibilities:
- Operate forklifts, pallet jacks, and other material handling equipment safely and proficiently.
- Load and unload materials from trucks and into designated warehouse areas.
- Transport materials to and from various locations within the facility.
- Stack, sort, and organize materials to ensure efficient storage and access.
- Inspect equipment regularly for proper functioning and report any issues.
- Follow all Safety procedures and guidelines, including the use of required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
- Assist with inventory management tasks, including cycle counts and stock checks.
- Maintain a clean and orderly work environment, contributing to overall warehouse Safety.
- Understand and execute tasks according to our logistics and supply chain needs.
- Handle materials with care to prevent damage.
- Perform routine maintenance on equipment as trained.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Proven experience as a Material Handler or in a similar role operating heavy machinery.
- Valid forklift operator certification is highly preferred.
- Ability to perform physical tasks, including frequent Lifting of up to 70 pounds.
- Strong knowledge of warehouse Safety regulations and best practices.
- Excellent hand-eye coordination and spatial awareness.
- Familiarity with different types of materials and their handling requirements.
- Ability to work efficiently in a demanding logistics environment.
- Good communication skills and ability to follow instructions.
- Reliable and committed to punctuality.
