We are looking for an organized and detail-oriented Shipping Clerk to manage our outbound shipments from our Indianapolis, Indiana facility. This role is critical to our logistics chain, ensuring that all orders are correctly documented, packaged, and dispatched. You will be responsible for preparing shipping labels, verifying shipment contents, coordinating with carriers, and maintaining accurate shipping records. A keen eye for detail and strong communication skills are essential. This position offers a great opportunity to grow within a leading logistics company. We emphasize Safety in all our operations and require adherence to established protocols, including the proper use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE). Responsibilities:
- Generate and apply shipping labels and documentation.
- Verify accuracy of outgoing shipments against order manifests.
- Coordinate pick-ups with various shipping carriers (UPS, FedEx, USPS, LTL).
- Maintain organized records of all shipments, including tracking information.
- Communicate with customers and internal departments regarding shipment status.
- Inspect packages for damage before dispatch.
- Ensure compliance with all shipping regulations and company policies.
- Assist with other warehouse duties as needed, including some Lifting.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Proven experience as a Shipping Clerk or in a similar role.
- Proficiency in shipping software and computer systems.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills.
- Ability to handle physical tasks, including moderate Lifting.
- Strong understanding of logistics and supply chain processes.
- Commitment to Safety and proper use of PPE.
