We are looking for a reliable Material Handler to join our team in Kansas City, Missouri. This role is fundamental to the efficient operation of our logistics hub. As a Material Handler, you will be responsible for moving, organizing, and preparing materials for production and shipment. Your diligence in handling materials and maintaining a safe work area is crucial. Responsibilities:
- Receive, identify, and sort incoming materials.
- Transport materials to and from designated areas within the warehouse.
- Operate hand trucks, pallet jacks, and other material handling equipment.
- Load and unload trucks efficiently and safely.
- Assist with inventory control and cycle counts.
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment.
- Adhere strictly to all safety regulations and procedures, including wearing appropriate PPE.
- Identify and report any damaged materials or safety hazards.
- Support production and shipping teams as needed.
- Contribute to overall logistics efficiency and effectiveness.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Previous experience as a Material Handler or in a similar warehouse role preferred.
- Ability to perform physically demanding tasks, including frequent lifting of up to 50 pounds.
- Familiarity with material handling equipment.
- Strong understanding of warehouse safety protocols.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple tasks.
- Good communication and teamwork skills.
- Commitment to wearing designated PPE.
- Basic knowledge of logistics is beneficial.
- Reliability and a strong work ethic.
