Are you an experienced Inventory Control Specialist with a passion for precision? We are looking for a dedicated professional to join our San Diego, California facility. This role is instrumental in maintaining the accuracy and integrity of our vast inventory. You will be responsible for meticulously tracking stock levels, performing thorough cycle counts, identifying and resolving any discrepancies, and implementing strategies to prevent future issues. A deep understanding of warehouse management systems and inventory control methodologies is essential. You will work closely with logistics, receiving, and shipping departments to ensure smooth operations and efficient stock flow. Your commitment to accuracy and efficiency will be key to our success in this fast-paced environment. We prioritize a safe working environment and expect all employees to adhere to safety guidelines and utilize necessary PPE.
Responsibilities:
- Perform comprehensive cycle counts and full physical inventories.
- Investigate root causes of inventory variances and implement corrective actions.
- Manage and update inventory records within our advanced Warehouse Management System (WMS).
- Monitor stock status, identify potential shortages or overages, and communicate findings.
- Develop and refine inventory control processes to enhance accuracy and efficiency.
- Support receiving and put-away teams to ensure accurate stock placement.
- Analyze inventory turnover and provide reports on aging or excess stock.
- Ensure strict adherence to all safety regulations and company policies, including the proper use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
- Operate forklifts and other warehouse equipment safely and efficiently, following all safety procedures.
- Maintain a highly organized and clean workspace.
- Undertake other inventory-related tasks as directed.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent; Associate's or Bachelor's degree in a related field is a plus.
- Proven experience in inventory control, preferably in a high-volume warehouse.
- Expertise in WMS and inventory management software.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
- Exceptional attention to detail.
- Ability to work effectively both independently and collaboratively.
- Must be comfortable with consistent lifting of items up to 50 lbs.
- Demonstrated understanding of logistics operations.
- Commitment to workplace safety, including proper use of PPE and safe lifting techniques.
- Physical ability to stand, walk, bend, and lift for extended periods.
