We are looking for a diligent Material Handler to join our team in the bustling warehouse environment of Chicago, Illinois. In this role, you will be instrumental in ensuring the smooth flow of materials within our facility. Your duties will encompass receiving, storing, and transporting goods, operating essential equipment, and maintaining an organized workspace. Responsibilities:
- Efficiently move, store, and retrieve materials and products within the warehouse.
- Operate forklifts, pallet jacks, and other material handling equipment safely.
- Load and unload inbound and outbound shipments.
- Accurately identify and count inventory items.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment, adhering to all company policies.
- Wear and correctly use all required PPE at all times.
- Follow proper Lifting techniques and procedures to prevent injuries and product damage.
- Assist in maintaining accurate inventory records.
- Support the logistics department with timely movement of goods.
- Report any safety concerns, equipment malfunctions, or inventory discrepancies promptly.
- Collaborate with team members to achieve daily operational goals.
- Perform other material handling tasks as needed.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Prior experience as a Material Handler or in a similar warehouse role is advantageous.
- Proficiency in operating forklifts and other warehouse equipment is a significant plus.
- Ability to perform physically demanding tasks, including significant standing, walking, bending, and Lifting.
- Capacity to lift up to 75 lbs.
- Thorough understanding of warehouse safety protocols and procedures.
- Commitment to wearing and using all required PPE.
- Good communication skills and ability to work effectively within a team.
- Ability to work efficiently and accurately in a fast-paced setting.
- Familiarity with logistics and inventory systems is helpful.
- Must be dependable and punctual.
