Our dynamic team in Detroit, Michigan is seeking an experienced Forklift Operator. This role is essential for managing the flow of goods within our warehouse, ensuring that materials are moved efficiently and safely. You will be responsible for operating forklifts, pallet jacks, and other powered industrial trucks to transport products, materials, and finished goods. The ideal candidate will have a strong safety record, proven forklift operation skills, and a commitment to maintaining an orderly and productive logistics environment. Responsibilities:
- Operate forklifts safely and efficiently to move inventory and materials.
- Load and unload trucks, ensuring proper securing of goods.
- Transport raw materials to production areas and finished goods to shipping.
- Perform routine checks and maintenance on forklifts; report any defects.
- Assist with inventory management, including cycle counts and stock location.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area, free from hazards.
- Adhere to all Safety regulations and company policies, including the mandatory use of PPE.
- Collaborate with supervisors and team members to optimize workflow.
- Participate in ongoing Safety and equipment training.
- Contribute to the overall efficiency and productivity of the logistics operations.
Qualifications:
- Current forklift certification and at least 2 years of verifiable forklift operating experience.
- Proficiency in operating various types of forklifts (e.g., sit-down, stand-up, reach truck).
- Thorough understanding of warehouse Safety protocols and best practices.
- Ability to perform tasks involving moderate Lifting (up to 50 lbs).
- Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent spatial awareness and hand-eye coordination.
- Reliable and committed to meeting performance expectations.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced logistics setting.
