Seeking an experienced Forklift Operator for our critical distribution hub in Detroit, Michigan. In this role, you will be the backbone of our material handling operations, ensuring the safe and efficient movement of goods throughout the facility. Your expertise in operating forklifts is essential to maintaining the flow of our logistics chain, from receiving raw materials to dispatching finished products. Responsibilities:
- Safely operate various types of forklifts (sit-down, stand-up, reach trucks) to move, stack, load, and unload inventory.
- Perform pre-shift equipment checks and report any maintenance needs or safety concerns promptly.
- Transport materials to and from designated areas, ensuring proper placement and organization.
- Load and unload trucks efficiently and accurately, adhering to weight distribution guidelines.
- Assist in maintaining accurate inventory records through proper scanning and location management.
- Adhere strictly to all Safety regulations and company policies, including the mandatory use of PPE .
- Maintain a clean and orderly work environment, ensuring clear pathways and accessible storage.
- Collaborate with team members to achieve daily operational goals.
- Support other warehouse functions as needed, including order picking and packing.
- Must be capable of performing manual Lifting of up to 50 lbs when necessary for product handling.
Qualifications:
- Certified forklift operator with a minimum of (X) years of experience.
- Proficiency in operating multiple types of forklifts and other powered industrial equipment.
- Solid understanding of warehouse operations and Logistics best practices.
- Excellent awareness of Safety procedures and commitment to maintaining a safe work environment.
- Must wear and utilize all required PPE , such as safety shoes, vests, and helmets.
- Physical ability to operate machinery and perform tasks requiring standing, walking, and occasional Lifting .
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, demanding environment.
- Strong attention to detail and a commitment to accuracy.
- High school diploma or GED required.
