We are hiring a skilled Forklift Operator for our busy distribution center in Baltimore, Maryland. As a Forklift Operator, you will play a vital role in the movement and organization of inventory within our facility. Your primary responsibility will be to safely and efficiently operate forklifts and other powered industrial trucks to transport materials throughout the warehouse. This position is essential for the smooth functioning of our entire logistics operation, ensuring timely order fulfillment and accurate stock management.
Responsibilities:
- Operate forklifts, pallet jacks, and other powered equipment safely and efficiently to move, stack, load, and unload materials.
- Conduct daily inspections of forklifts and equipment to ensure they are in good working order and report any defects immediately.
- Load and unload trucks, ensuring proper weight distribution and securement of goods.
- Transport materials from receiving to storage areas and from storage to shipping docks.
- Accurately pick and stage orders for shipment, verifying item numbers and quantities.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area, adhering to all Safety regulations and procedures.
- Follow all company guidelines regarding the proper use of PPE , including safety vests and hard hats when required.
- Assist with inventory counts and cycle counts as needed.
- Report any damage to products or equipment to your supervisor immediately.
- Must be comfortable with frequent Lifting of items up to 50 lbs when not operating machinery.
Qualifications:
- Valid forklift operator certification or proven experience operating various types of forklifts.
- Demonstrated ability to operate warehouse equipment safely and effectively.
- Strong understanding of warehouse operations and Logistics processes.
- Excellent hand-eye coordination and spatial awareness.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet productivity goals.
- Commitment to adhering to all Safety protocols and wearing required PPE .
- Physical ability to perform tasks involving frequent movement, standing, and occasional Lifting .
- Reliable and punctual with a strong work ethic.
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
