At M Group Telecom, we’re enabling and enhancing telecom networks, playing a lead role in the delivery of our tech enabled future. We deliver full network cycle services for fixed, private and mobile operators. This role will be within our Fixed networks team, you’ll join our people who support providing turnkey solutions for the surveying, designing, building and commissioning new networks, while supporting the repair, maintenance and operation of existing networks. Want to come and be a part of it?   What will you be doing? A Fibre Build Supervisor role is now open within the Telecoms Division at M Group Ltd. The position is shaped for someone who is comfortable guiding complex field activity and who wishes to support the safe and smooth delivery of fibre networks across a range of locations. The work will be centred on steady oversight, careful coordination and clear communication with teams and partners. This role will be focused on the supervision of fibre network builds from early field activity through to final completion. Each project stage will be monitored to ensure that all work is delivered within agreed timescales and in line with Openreach standards. Regular site visits will be required so that progress can be reviewed, issues can be resolved in a timely way and health, safety and quality expectations can be met at every stage. Close coordination will be required with subcontractors and internal teams. This coordination will support consistent progress, removal of delays and clear understanding of each project requirement. All activity will be aligned with project plans so that delivery remains steady and well controlled. Routine audits will be completed to give assurance that work is compliant and accurate. Detailed progress reports will be prepared for stakeholders so that project status, risks and dependencies are understood and acted on. These reports will form a core part of communication across the programme. All relevant legislation, including NRSWA regulations, will be followed throughout the work. This will include careful attention to safe working practices, traffic management and protection of the public. The Fibre Build Supervisor will ensure that each site remains compliant and that all records remain complete and up to date. Oversight will be provided across all parts of the fibre installation process. This will include spine routes, distribution networks and CBT connections. Technical issues may arise during the installation process, and these issues will be reviewed and resolved so that efficiency on site is maintained and disruption is reduced. Success in this role will come through steady leadership, thoughtful decision making and clear attention to detail. The position will suit someone who is confident in field environments, comfortable working with a broad range of people and committed to the delivery of safe and reliable fibre networks. Interest in this role is welcomed from candidates who can bring experience in fibre build activity and who wish to support high‑quality delivery for communities and clients.   What you’ll bring; We are looking for someone who is ready to step into the work with confidence and who feels at ease in an environment that moves quickly. The role suits someone who enjoys practical tasks, who is comfortable in the field and who can maintain steady progress even when demands shift. The work will draw on both technical experience and strong personal judgement, so a calm approach and the ability to adapt will be important throughout. The role needs someone who has gained clear and proven experience within fibre network construction. This experience should include direct involvement with Openreach projects so that the standards, processes and expectations of these builds are already familiar. A broad and confident understanding of fibre networks will be required from the start, covering the full journey from the main spine through to final CBT connections. This knowledge will support effective supervision, clear communication and sound decision making on site. A solid understanding of NRSWA and street works requirements will be important. This understanding will guide the safe and lawful delivery of all activity and will help ensure that each location remains compliant and well managed. This knowledge will also support better planning and more effective resolution of issues when they arise. Strong organisational and communication skills will be needed each day. The role depends on clear coordination with teams, subcontractors and stakeholders, so information must be shared in a way that is timely, accurate and easy to act on. This communication will also help maintain trust and ensure that progress remains stable. Good organisation will support steady planning, smooth allocation of tasks and careful monitoring of each project milestone. A proactive approach will be expected. Many situations will need early attention, and independence in problem solving will be essential. The role will also involve teamwork across a range of functions, so the ability to work well with others, offer support and maintain positive relationships will make a strong contribution to the wider programme. A full UK driving licence will be required, as the role involves regular travel across different sites. The work will often take place across varied locations, so a willingness to travel extensively will be an important part of the position.
