Business Development officer
Location: Bristol city centre
Onsite:
4x days per week with Friday as WFH
Starting Salary:
£35,200 - 50,000 with company bonus approx. 8k+

We are a SME defence company based in Bristol, we have huge growth plans and looking to hire someone who works in sales and wants a role in business development.
The ideal applicant is someone who wants to have a career in BD and wants to start or has some experience in BD, we need a doer someone who wants to create things has energy.
Your role will be to support the BD leads helping with be helping right bids and building connections, this is a great for someone wanting to make an impact in BD, there be international travel. Miami - Paris - Canada.
A Business Development Officer is a dynamic and exciting role within Aerospace. Reporting into the Managing Director, you will join the SA BD team Experian Data Quality sales team who are working with the Project teams to develop the SA brand and services offered with the MoD and commercial military environment.
This is a customer facing role within an exciting and growing area of the business, meaning that the responsibilities revolve around driving revenue through building relationships and identifying leads within our existing and new client base.
As a Business Development officer, you will:
Use technologies to uncover contacts across accounts you want to target.
Engage with existing/prospect clients to generate new business, ensuring that we continue to grow our client base.
Speak to existing/prospect clients over the phone, via email and in-person.
Support the Current BD team in all function
Meet with prospect clients to uncover potential opportunities.
Work with wider sales and support teams, giving you the remit to build relationships and explore cross-sale opportunities.
Building strong client relationships is key to this role and in return, you have the amazing opportunity to genuinely impact our business success.
This is a rare permanent opportunity, and you'll also take part in our 2-year structured Careers Development Programme.
Qualifications:
You’ll have recently achieved or be on track to achieve a minimum 2:2 degree classification in any degree subject, and have an interest in sales, customers and people.
Due to the nature of this role, you will need to be motivated to keep going in the face of rejection. You will be customer-focused person with an ability to think innovatively to provide the best outcome for our clients.
Previous experience in a customer-facing role is valuable but not essential. If you have a desire to develop your business-to-business sales skillset, this is the role for you!
Professional Skills / Abilities:
Able to establish strong relationships with key stakeholders across the business.
Must be self‑motivated with a flexible approach to workload.
Strong attention to detail (essential).
An understanding of Commercial issues in Business
Basic understanding of Project Management / engineering desirable but not essential.
Experience & Qualifications:
Educated to Degree Level Qualification (or working towards).
Willing to be a member of a relevant professional body e.g.
Project Management understandings in an Operational Procurement Environment in the Defence Sector (preferred).
An understanding of the MoD and the commercial opportunities
Full Driving License and willingness to travel.
