Responsibilities
Select and define suitable materials, tolerances, processes and protective finishes giving consideration to the manufacture and lifecycle items
Design of special purpose jigs, tools and gauges suitable for use with explosive items, including the design of pneumatic and hydraulic circuits, interlock systems and intrinsically safe circuits for process control
Design of munitions and munition subsystems across a range of natures and calibres
Generating design schemes, assemblies and detail drawings from either 3D solid CAD generated models, 2D CAD generated data or manual techniques
Selecting and defining suitable materials, processes and protective finishes required to manufacture and assemble components
Generating build standard definitions for products and operating configuration control techniques appropriately
Carrying out Engineering calculations as required to inform and support a proposed design
Apprenticeship Details What qualification will you get? Engineering and Advanced Manufacturing Degree Apprenticeship | ACW - Website The degree you will study for is: Mechanical Engineering (Part-time) | University of Wales Trinity Saint David The academic learning will be by day release at The University of Wales Trinity St David (Swansea). Apprentices are required to supply their own laptop for university work. University travel and expenses will be covered by the business.
Qualifications
Minimum 5 GCSEs (or equivalent) at grade 9-4/A
At least one GCSE in Maths, English and a Science/Technical subject
3 A-levels (or equivalent) at grade C or above; 1 must be Maths, 1 must be Engineering or a Science/Technical subject, or an equivalent level 3 vocational qualification (STEM related, worth at least 96 UCAS points)
