Product Designer (Contract)

Summary
We are seeking a talented product designer to join our dynamic UX team dedicated to creating intuitive and impactful experiences within the data security, governance, compliance, and privacy domain. This position offers the opportunity to shape experiences that empower security professionals and end users alike, transforming complex challenges into seamless, human-centered solutions. Working at the intersection of innovation and security, you will collaborate closely with product management and engineering partners to deliver end-to-end design solutions that protect and secure digital environments. This role demands a strategic thinker who can synthesize user insights with business objectives, prototype rapidly, and champion design excellence throughout the product development lifecycle. You will be instrumental in defining the user experience for cutting-edge administrative and AI-driven scenarios within a market-leading product suite that is reshaping how enterprises approach their most critical security concerns.

Job Responsibilities

• Define product design needs as the owner for a set of experiences based on user insights, business requirements, and unspoken user needs throughout the end-to-end design process
• Generate ideation solutions that improve product designs by synthesizing perspectives from business, experience, and technology domains
• Create rapid prototypes for new products and features and present to cross-functional teams and customers to gather feedback and validate user needs
• Collaborate with engineering teams to ensure successful design implementation, conducting quality assurance reviews to achieve detailed and accurate designs
• Develop wireframes, journey maps, user scenarios, task flows, and personas to support interaction designs for software-based experiences at various levels of fidelity
• Utilize and contribute to design systems including content templates, icons, form design, user-interface controls, and navigation models while sharing learnings with the broader design team
• Communicate design work proactively to peers, managers, and stakeholders, setting appropriate context and managing communication across all tages of design and development
• Recognize and articulate user needs to team members, creating compelling narratives for products through innovative storytelling methods
• Facilitate collaboration with creative team members, program managers, and developers to define and iterate on new and existing product features
• Shepherd end-to-end experiences from concept to ship, working closely with product owners and development teams throughout the entire product lifecycle

Requirements

• 3 to 7 years of experience working in product or service design
• 2 or more years of experience shipping products or delivering to customers through an end-to-end design process
• 2 or more years of advanced Figma usage in a professional setting
• 5 to 7 years applying systems thinking across design ecosystems
• 2 or more years working with AI-related design tools or frameworks
• Bachelor's Degree in Industrial Design, Product Design, Human Computer Interaction, or related field, OR equivalent experience using design thinking to solve problems
• Master's Degree in Industrial Design, Product Design, Human Computer Interaction, or related field preferred
• Portfolio of work required for consideration
• Advanced proficiency in Figma, including design libraries, shared components, and expert-level workflows
• Strong systems thinking capabilities applied across design ecosystems
• Ability to synthesize user insights with quantitative data to identify underlying issues and user desires
• Expertise in creating interaction models and detailed designs for complex product features
• Proficiency in rapid prototyping methodologies to validate concepts quickly and cost-effectively
• Understanding of technical limitations and the ability to challenge constraints constructively
• Experience with AI-related design tools, paradigms, workflows, or demonstrated familiarity with AI design frameworks
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to convey complex design concepts to diverse audiences
• Collaborative mindset with the ability to influence cross-functional team members
• Customer-driven approach with passion for solving complex problems
• Portfolio demonstrating product design work, systems thinking, and critical thinking capabilities
