The Sr. Engineer, Lead (Cloud Services) is responsible for architecture, development, and delivery of robust cloud-based software solutions, while leading cross-functional engineering teams through all phases of the software development lifecycle. This role combines technical expertise in cloud platforms with project leadership, ensuring alignment with organizational goals, compliance requirements, and best practices.

***This hybrid position is located at Spacelabs Healthcare headquarters in Snoqualmie, Washington, with the expectation of onsite collaboration 3 or more days per week.***

Responsibilities
  • Architect, design, and implement scalable cloud software solutions, integrating with hardware platforms and embedded systems.
  • Lead the development and integration of Mobile and cloud services to support new and existing products.
  • Oversee requirements gathering, analysis, design, development, testing, deployment, and release management for cloud-based applications.
  • Ensure software architecture aligns with hardware capabilities and regulatory requirements.
  • Lead and mentor cross-functional engineering teams (including software, hardware, QA, and DevOps) to deliver high-impact cloud projects.
  • Manage project scope, schedule, budget, and risk, ensuring timely and on-budget delivery of software solutions.
  • Coordinate tasks and deliverables across internal teams and external partners/contractors.
  • Develop and maintain project tracking tools and frameworks; escalate issues and drive resolution.
  • Provide clear and concise project updates to senior leadership and stakeholders.
  • Negotiate project trade-offs related to schedule, features, and resources.
  • Ensure adherence to company policies, procedures, and applicable regulatory standards (e.g., FDA, medical device regulations).
  • Generate and manage documentation consistently following Quality Management System processes.

  • It is the responsibility of every Spacelabs Healthcare employee to report to their manager or a member of senior management any quality problems or defects in order for corrective action to be implemented and to avoid recurrence of the problem.
  • Duties may be modified or assigned at any time to meet the needs of the business.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or a similar related degree.  A master's degree is a plus.
  • 10+ years' experience in related R&D roles, including Program/ Project Management, Test/ V&V, or Operations Engineering. 
  • 5+ years' experience in managing complex development projects within demanding timeframes is required.
  • Experience in leading Cloud software platform development programs with hardware interaction, including familiarity with embedded systems, APIs, or firmware integration.
  • Experience with FDA and medical device regulatory and registration requirements is required.
  • Solid understanding of the development process, including requirements gathering, analysis and design, development tools and technologies, release and version control, contemporary testing methodologies, and deployment management.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and relationship-building skills.
  • Demonstrated track record of encouraging innovation and out-of-the-box thinking.
  • Highly developed relationship-building skills and strong presentation and communication skills.
  • Proven ability to deliver results through others, both in direct and matrixed organizational models. 
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills, for both internal and external audiences, at all levels.
  • Ability to attend global meetings and work global hours as needed.
  • Ability to travel internationally and be able to acquire all necessary travel documents. Travel up to 10%.
  • Computer use up to 90%.
