CONSTRUCTION ASSISTANT SUPERINTENDENT

PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Assist in overseeing and directing construction project
• Develop punch list items that can be distributed amongst the team
• Coordinate daily and weekly work plans with trade partners and vendors to meet project milestones and completion objectives
• Walk homes daily to set and obtain quality levels expected of BlackPine
• Always maintain a clean and presentable site
• Ensure that trades are treating the home as working in a completed space when they are called back for corrective work. Need to leave workspace clean
• Understand timeline available to closeout a home and be able to critically think about sequence and how to accomplish work in the timeframe provided
• Ensure jobsite (HIOSH) safety standards are being met and practiced
• Lock up applicable homes at the end of each day and turn off lights other than exterior
• Create a positive working environment for fellow coworkers, trades, and inspectors
• Ensure proper function of all MEP devices, appliances, doors, hardware, etc
• Be able to self perform tasks as needed including but not limited to caulking, paint touchup, door adjustments, cleaning, light finish carpentry, drywall repair, etc.
• Other duties as assigned

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS :

• High school diploma or equivalent. Bachelor's degree / additional vocational training preferred
• Minimum of 3 years of high-volume residential construction experience as a Superintendent or Assistant Superintendent
• 4 – 6 years prior related work experience

SKILLS:

• Must be familiar with Hawaii general contracting procedures and construction building codes
• Ability to communicate verbally and in writing
• Must be able to lift 50 lbs. or occasionally more
• Firm understanding of construction
• Needs to have a sense of urgency
• Must be comfortable/capable working independently most the time
• Must be proficient in Microsoft Office products

Pay: From $95,000.00 per year
