Mechanic Assistant

Overview
We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Mechanic Assistant to join our maintenance team. This position offers an excellent opportunity to gain hands-on experience in automotive mechanical systems and repair processes. The ideal candidate will be eager to learn, dependable, and possess basic understanding of automotive and small engine components. This role is essential in supporting our skilled mechanics to ensure optimal equipment performance and safety.

Duties

• Assist experienced mechanics with routine maintenance and repairs of machinery and equipment
• Maintain/update maintenance and repair logs
• Perform basic troubleshooting and diagnostics under supervision
• Use tools such as wrenches, screwdrivers, and testing devices to support repair tasks
• Maintain a clean and organized work environment to promote safety and efficiency
• Prepare work areas for repairs, including gathering necessary tools and parts
• Follow safety protocols and procedures at all times during maintenance activities
• Make service calls as needed for off site repairs on down equipment

Qualifications

• Basic understanding and prior experience with small engines and automotive mechanical components
• Strong attention to detail and ability to follow instructions accurately
• Good communication skills and ability to work well within a team environment
• Dependable with a strong work ethic and commitment to safety standards
• Ability to handle multiple tasks in fast paced work environment.
• Ability to stand for long periods and be able to move/lift up to 50 pounds regularly.
• Bilingual with English and Spanish
• A valid Driver's License with a good driving record is require

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $ $28.00 per hour

Expected hours: 35 – 45 per week
