Food Runner

Overview
We are seeking a friendly and efficient Food Runner to join our dynamic hospitality team. The ideal candidate will play a vital role in ensuring timely delivery of food orders from the kitchen to our guests, maintaining high standards of food safety and guest service. This position offers an excellent opportunity to gain experience in the food service industry, develop culinary and customer service skills, and work in a lively restaurant environment. Prior experience in food handling, serving, or restaurant operations is preferred but not required. A strong focus on communication skills and a passion for hospitality are essential for success in this role.

Duties

• Deliver prepared food orders promptly from the kitchen to guests' tables, ensuring accuracy and presentation standards are met
• Assist with food preparation tasks as needed, including plating and garnishing
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of service stations and dining areas
• Buss tables by clearing dishes and resetting tables efficiently to ensure a smooth flow of service
• Operate POS systems such as Aloha POS or Micros POS for order processing when required
• Support kitchen staff with basic tasks such as food handling, cooking assistance, or ingredient replenishment during busy periods
• Uphold food safety standards by following proper handling procedures and sanitation protocols
• Communicate effectively with kitchen staff, servers, and guests to ensure seamless service delivery
• Assist with banquet or special event setups when necessary

Qualifications

• Previous experience in food service, serving, or hospitality is highly desirable; banquet or hotel experience is a plus
• Knowledge of food handling, safety procedures, and basic food preparation techniques
• Familiarity with POS systems such as Aloha POS or Micros POS is advantageous
• Strong communication skills and ability to work well within a team environment
• Ability to multitask efficiently during high-volume periods while maintaining attention to detail
• Customer service-oriented mindset with a friendly demeanor
• Flexibility to work in fast-paced settings, including evenings, weekends, or special events if required
• Prior kitchen or culinary experience is beneficial but not mandatory
