About The Role

Milliman is seeking a highly skilled Healthcare Data Analyst Lead to join our dynamic team. This role is ideal for a technically proficient and analytically strong professional who is passionate about leveraging data to improve healthcare outcomes. The Healthcare Data Analyst Lead will be responsible for managing complex analytics and technology projects, overseeing data workflows, and mentoring junior staff. The position involves designing and developing data processes, performing advanced data analysis, and creating insightful dashboards and models to support our consulting engagements. The successful candidate will collaborate closely with consultants, actuaries, project managers, and other stakeholders to interpret results and deliver actionable insights to our clients. This role offers an exciting opportunity to influence healthcare performance and costs through innovative analytics and cutting-edge technology solutions.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Management Information Systems, Computer Engineering, Math, Actuarial Science, Data Analytics, or a related field
  • Minimum of 6 years of experience in healthcare data analytics or a related technical analytics role
  • Advanced proficiency in SQL and Microsoft Excel for data analysis, validation, and automation
  • Strong programming skills in Python, R, or similar analytical languages
  • Experience with data visualization and reporting tools such as Power BI, Tableau, or R Shiny
  • Solid understanding of healthcare data structures including claims, eligibility, and provider data
  • Proven ability to lead multiple projects simultaneously while mentoring junior team members
  • Experience with cloud data technologies like Azure Data Factory, Databricks, Snowflake, or AWS Redshift
  • Exposure to AI or Generative AI tools for data analysis or automation is preferred but not mandatory

Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage end-to-end analytics and technology projects, ensuring timely delivery and high-quality outputs
  • Design, develop, and optimize data ingestion processes and workflows supporting large healthcare datasets
  • Perform ETL, data validation, and transformation tasks for claims, eligibility, and pharmacy data
  • Guide project teams through the full data lifecycle, maintaining accuracy and efficiency
  • Create analytical models, dashboards, and data pipelines to support consulting initiatives
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams including consultants, actuaries, and project managers to interpret data and generate insights
  • Review and approve technical work from peers and junior analysts, ensuring adherence to quality standards
  • Mentor and coach analytical staff to foster technical and professional development
  • Contribute to process improvements, automation initiatives, and explore AI integration opportunities
  • Participate in client meetings and presentations, with occasional travel as required
