JOB SUMMARY:

The Produce Manager will conduct the proper operation for the Produce Department. This person coordinates the work of the employees to achieve satisfactory operating results, which comply with company procedures, policies, and execute company goals. The Produce Manager will act as role model of professionalism, ethical behavior, and effective decision making, at all times. Candidates must have prior produce experience.

DESCRIPTION OF TASKS:

The Produce Manager oversees and coordinates the activities of its employees in the production department. Tasks, schedule breaks and timetable for their department will be assigned. Employees will be trained in store policies, procedures and tasks of the department of work. This position goods orders and reconciles the goods upon arrival. This position will prepare inventory reports for the store manager and the Corporate Office. Vegetables Manager provides friendly service permanently.

DUTIES AND ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

· Prepares the daily production list and delegates to produce personnel.

· Maintains an adequate inventory level for produce products and supplies.

· Responsible for produce department budget, expenses, labor and shrink.

· Enforces established programs which comply with City codes, health regulations, weights and measures regulations, and ensures standards are met in all departments.

· Properly rotates and extracts all spoiled merchandise.

· Handles all damaged and spoiled goods according to company policy.

· Checks and verifies Produce Department orders and shipments when required.

· Properly rotates items and verifies prices.

· Keeps refrigerated cases and display shelves properly stocked and faced at all times according to product movement and department standards.

· Follows department sanitary procedures and work methods to extend product life.

· Follows department production procedures and standards for quality consistency of finished product.

· Adheres to all company and produce operation standards, policies and procedures.

· Maintains a clean safe environment for customers and employees.

· Proactively prevents and resolves customer service situations.

· Develops methods that help build customer service loyalty and expand customer base.

· Builds and maintains a positive working relationship with employees and peers.

· Executes and communicates company procedures and policies in a manner consistent with Bodega

· Latina Corporation's mission.

· Motivates and inspires team to reach high performance levels and provides friendly customer service.

· Manages the development and performance of the store's employees.

· Performs other duties and responsibilities as required or requested.

EDUCATION/TRAINING/EXPERIENCE/LICENSE REQUIRED:

Experience

2-3 years of produce experience

1-2 years in a supervisory level position

Grocery produce experience is a plus

Preferred Field of Expertise

· Knowledge of safety and sanitation standards for produce operation.

· Ability to read, write and follow instructions

· Ability to maintain effective working relationships with others.

· Knowledge of basic math skills, i.e., addition, subtraction, multiplication, division of whole and fractional numbers, count, and decimal systems.

· Must be able to provide a Food Handling card, if needed.

Skills

Communication- written and oral skills (Bilingual English/Spanish a plus)

Problem identification and resolution.
