Salary Range: 150k to 200k

Role Overview

This is a strategic leadership position focused on high-voltage (138–345 kV) substation design, project delivery, client relationships, and team building. You will act as the technical authority for U.S. operations while bridging Engineering, Estimating, Procurement, and Project Execution teams.

Although the role has no direct reports initially, you will shape the local engineering function, mentor junior staff, and build a high-performing team as headcount grows.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the design, specification, and coordination of HV substations for utility-scale and transmission projects in Texas.
  • Ensure full compliance with NESC, NEC, IEEE, NFPA 70E, ERCOT protocols, and client-specific requirements.
  • Serve as the primary technical interface with U.S. clients, utilities, and consultants throughout pre-construction and execution phases.
  • Provide technical governance, peer review, and quality assurance of all engineering deliverables.
  • Support Business Development and Pre-Construction teams in Early Contractor Involvement (ECI), including preliminary layouts, grid interconnection feasibility, and technical scoping.
  • Capture project lessons learned and regulatory insights to inform broader U.S. market strategy.
  • Collaborate with global engineering centers to adapt proven designs for the U.S. market.
  • Participate in resource planning and recruitment to build a sustainable U.S. engineering team.
  • Drive a culture of technical excellence, accountability, and continuous improvement.
  • Mentor and develop engineers, maintaining high standards of professional development (CPD).
  • Facilitate real-time feedback loops between site teams and design engineers to optimize project outcomes.

Reporting Structure

  • Reports directly to the Chief Technology Officer (CTO)
  • Provides monthly project updates and participates in quarterly executive reviews covering resource planning, risks, and strategic opportunities.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering (Power Systems focus preferred)
  • Professional Engineer (PE) license in Texas (or ability to obtain reciprocity within 6 months)
  • 5–10+ years of electrical engineering experience in utility-scale or high-voltage EPC environments
  • Proven track record delivering turnkey HV substations (138–345 kV) and associated control & protection systems
  • In-depth knowledge of U.S. transmission/distribution infrastructure and regional standards (ERCOT interconnection process highly desirable)
  • Experience leading or coordinating multi-disciplinary engineering teams and external consultants (strongly preferred)
  • Excellent client-facing and communication skills
  • Must be eligible to work in the United States (U.S. citizenship or permanent residency required—no visa sponsorship available)
  • Dallas, Texas, United States
