At the Village at St. Barnabas, mealtime isn't just about food—it's about connection, comfort, and creating moments of happiness. We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Cook to join our culinary team in providing exceptional dining experiences for our senior community in a country club setting. The ideal candidate will work with the team to prepare nutritious, flavorful, and attractively presented meals while maintaining high standards of food safety and sanitation. This role is more than cooking—it's about creating comfort, community, and joy through food.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare and cook meals according to established menus, recipes, and the Chefs guidelines.
  • Collaborate with the Chef and culinary team to provide variety and creativity in meal offerings.
  • Follow all food handling, storage, and sanitation procedures in accordance with state and federal guidelines.
  • Keep our kitchen sparkling clean and safe—because our team and residents' health comes first.
  • Work as part of a supportive kitchen team to make sure every plate leaves the kitchen looking and tasting its best.
  • Maintain a clean and organized station ready for lunch and dinner service.
  • Be part of a supportive kitchen environment where we'll train you to thrive in your role.
  • Able to lift at least 25 lbs.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent; culinary training or experience.
  • Minimum 1–2 years of experience as a line cook.
  • Strong understanding of food safety practices (ServSafe food handlers certification a plus).
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple tasks.
  • Compassion, patience, and respect when working with seniors.
