About New Life Wellness & Recovery

New Life Wellness & Recovery is a newly launching behavioral health provider dedicated to delivering high-quality, integrated Mental Health Psychiatric Day Treatment and Outpatient Counseling services to adults in the greater Springfield area. Our programs are built on trauma-informed, recovery-oriented principles and emphasize access, clinical excellence, interdisciplinary collaboration, and individualized care.

We are seeking a dynamic Clinical Director / Clinical Supervisor to lead our clinical team and oversee the delivery of all mental health programming during our program launch and early growth phase.

Position Summary

The Clinical Director / Clinical Supervisor provides overall clinical leadership for our Day Treatment and Outpatient Counseling programs. This role is responsible for ensuring compliance with all regulatory and licensing standards, supervising clinical staff, maintaining program quality, and ensuring excellent patient outcomes.

The ideal candidate is a licensed senior clinician with strong leadership, compliance, and team-building skills who is excited to help build a program from the ground up.

Key Responsibilities

Clinical Leadership

  • Provide oversight and direction of all clinical services for Psychiatric Day Treatment and Outpatient Mental Health programs.
  • Establish clinical programming models, treatment pathways, group therapy schedules, and patient flow processes.
  • Maintain high standards of trauma-informed, person-centered, evidence-based care.
  • Participate in direct clinical work as needed to support staffing and supervision needs.

Supervision and Staff Development

  • Provide clinical supervision to licensed and pre-licensed clinicians in accordance with Massachusetts licensure requirements.
  • Conduct regular individual and group supervision sessions.
  • Support onboarding, training, competency development, and annual clinical evaluations.
  • Promote staff retention by fostering a supportive, collaborative, and professional clinical culture.

Regulatory and Quality Compliance

  • Ensure compliance with Massachusetts Department of Public Health (DPH) / BSAS regulations, clinical documentation standards, and all payer requirements.
  • Oversee clinical record quality, treatment planning, utilization reviews, and audits.
  • Work collaboratively with compliance consultants and leadership to prepare for licensing surveys, accreditations, and audits.
  • Implement quality assurance and performance improvement activities to meet regulatory and operational benchmarks.

Program Operations

  • Collaborate with the Executive Director and operations leadership on staffing plans, scheduling, and service delivery workflows.
  • Participate in community partnerships, referral development, and stakeholder engagement.
  • Support ongoing program development and future service expansion.

QualificationsRequired

  • Active, unrestricted Massachusetts license in one of the following:
  • LICSW
  • LMHC
  • LMFT
  • Minimum 3–5 years of clinical experience in mental health services.
  • At least 2 years of clinical supervision experience preferably within outpatient or higher-level programming.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of group therapy models, psychiatric day treatment structure, and outpatient services.
  • Strong understanding of Massachusetts regulatory standards for licensed mental health programs.
  • Proven leadership and organizational skills.

Preferred

  • Experience launching or scaling licensed behavioral health programs.
  • Background working with complex, high-acuity populations and co-occurring conditions.
  • Prior involvement in QA, accreditation preparation, or regulatory inspections.
