Job Title: Communications Manager
FLSA: Full-time, in Person
Reports to: Chief Operating Officer
Position Summary:
The Communications Manager is responsible for managing and implementing all communications to consistently convey the organization's mission, programs, and impact. Reporting to the Chief Operating Officer, the Communication Manager collaborates with the Program, Community Outreach and Development teams when developing messages and materials for target audiences.
Key Responsibilities:
- Communications Plan: Work with volunteers to develop a comprehensive communications plan that supports the organization's strategic goals and fundraising efforts. Once plan is approved, implement.
- Brand management: Ensure consistent messaging and visual branding across all communications, including the website, social media, print materials, and press releases.
- Media relations: Manage media inquiries and provide information required for the organization's appointed spokespeople. Track publicity about Casa San Jose.
- Digital communications: Oversee the development and management of all digital content on Casa San Jose's social media channels. Content should be engaging, consistent, informative, and aligned with the organization's mission.
- Internal communications: Working with COO, create and manage a consistent internal communication strategy to keep staff and board members informed.
- Communications Volunteer/Consultant coordination: When needed, work with volunteers and vendors who can provide services required by Communications, including graphic design, printing, and mailings.
- Cross-departmental collaboration: Work closely with the Program, Community Outreach and Development teams to assist with their communication goals related to fundraising events and appeals promotion, stakeholder communication, and program news.
Education and Experience:
- Bachelor's degree in Communications, Public Relations, Marketing, or a related field is typically required. (Master's preferred).
- Minimum of 3 - 5 years of progressive experience in communications or public relations, preferably in a nonprofit environment.
- Experience working with Latino or community populations is strongly preferred.
- Bilingual ( Spanish - English ) Required

Working Conditions:
- Some evening and weekend hours may be required.
- Local travel to program sites and partner locations.
- While performing the duties this job requires, the employee is regularly required to sit, to talk, to hear. The employee is occasionally required to stand, walk and reach with hands and arms. Employees may occasionally lift and/or move objects of up to 20 pounds.

Pay: $52, $62,000.00 per year
