Location: Southeastern Pennsylvania (Philadelphia, Bucks, Montgomery, Chester, and Delaware Counties – serving 100+ townships and boroughs within these counties)

Position Overview

As a Direct Support Professional (DSP), you will play a vital role in empowering individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities to lead fulfilling, independent, and meaningful lives.
DSPs provide personalized support in both home and community settings, helping clients build life skills, achieve goals, and participate actively in their communities.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide hands-on support to individuals in daily living activities such as grooming, dressing, eating, and mobility assistance.
  • Assist clients with community integration, social engagement, and participation in recreational or vocational programs.
  • Encourage and support clients in developing independent living skills, including budgeting, cooking, and communication.
  • Implement individualized support plans and report progress or behavioral changes to supervisors.
  • Maintain a safe, clean, and supportive environment for each participant.
  • Escort clients to appointments, community outings, and events as needed.
  • Document daily activities, incidents, and service notes accurately and timely.
  • Provide companionship, encouragement, and emotional support to promote client well-being.

Qualifications

  • Must be 18 years or older.
  • High School Diploma or GED (required).
  • Valid driver's license and reliable transportation (preferred).
  • Prior experience working with individuals with disabilities or in human services (preferred but not required).
  • Ability to complete all ODP-mandated trainings within required timeframes.
  • Excellent communication, reliability, and compassion for helping others.

Certifications & Training (Preferred or Required)

  • CPR and First Aid Certification (required before assignment).
  • ODP Annual Training (Person-Centered Practices, Fire Safety, Individual Rights, Recognizing & Reporting Abuse, etc.).
  • Medication Administration Certification (Med Admin) – highly preferred.
  • Act 33/34 Clearances, FBI Fingerprint, and PA Background Check (required).
  • Valid TB Test or Chest X-ray (required).

Final pay rate determined by experience, service level, and client care plan.

Expected Hours: 20 – 60 hours per week

Work Location

In person – throughout Southeastern Pennsylvania (Philadelphia, Bucks, Montgomery, Chester, and Delaware Counties).
