Job Description

Summary

Provide the primary planning and scheduling function for the Special Metals Corporation ingot, billet and bar product lines resulting in the timely and efficient manufacture of these products.

Essential Functions

The position incumbent is required to have a fundamental knowledge and understand of SMC manufacturing operations and capabilities and a working knowledge of the SMC computerized and manual scheduling and inventory control systems. This position involves the extensive use of Oracle Applications as well as PC based programs such as Lotus Notes, Excel, etc. in the performance of daily activities involving inquiry and order entry and the dissemination of planning schedules. It is necessary for the individual to have well established verbal and written communication skills in addition to the supervisory skills necessary to maintain an efficient operation and an organized systematic approach to problem solving and record keeping.

Additional Responsibilities

  • Analysis of customer inquires for the purpose of providing Sales Correspondents sufficient information necessary for quotation compatible with SMC manufacturing capabilities and capacity restrictions.
  • Provide the SMC sales group daily updates of inventory availability and current lead-times
  • Implementation of modifications to orders in process resulting from both internal and/or customer generated changes
  • Maintain #9 VIM backlog and routinely provide melt plan schedules
  • Routinely review and update manufacturing order status to ensure appropriate application and scheduling of orders and the maintenance of required inventory back-up
  • Review and provide IRR instructions resulting in the continuous flow of manufacturing operations and/or the removal and reapplication of material and the appropriate rescheduling of orders
  • Supervise Production Planning Department to insure timely, effective, error-free release and completion of WIP jobs, inquiries and inventory assignment
  • Inventory management including slow moving inventory turnover and MRB

Relocation

Relocation is authorized for this position.

For informational purposes only, the range of pay for this role is $67000 to $ US Dollar (USD) Salaried based on a variety of factors. For informational purposes only, this role is eligible to participate in the Company's Quarterly Cash Bonus Plan, paid out at the quarterly bonus factor of 1.5X the Company's bonus multiple, based on the Company's performance in the applicable quarter. Employees will receive 120 hours paid time off every year. Employees will also receive 10 paid holidays. Employees (and their families) are eligible to participate in the company's medical, dental, vision, and basic life insurance. Employees are eligible to enroll in the Company's 401(k) plan.

This position requires use of information or access to production processes subject to national security controls under U.S. export control laws and regulations (including, but not limited to the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) and the Export Administration Regulations (EAR)). To comply with those regulations, this position may require applicants to be U.S. Persons (i.e., U.S. citizens, U.S. lawful permanent residents, protected individuals as defined by 8 U.S.C. 1324b(a)(3)), or eligible to obtain the required export authorizations from the U.S. Department of State or the U.S. Department of Commerce.
