Finishing Supervisor Job Summary

Responsible for the efficient and effective operation of the finishing processes in a fast-paced production environment. Requires hands-on/shop floor activity, leading the team in the operation of paint lines, adhering to production goals, ensuring final product meets quality standards and ordering materials.

Essential Duties:

  • Ensure paint application processes, equipment utilization and material flow support production output

  • Identify and resolve production challenges - including paint quality defects (streaks, blisters, uneven finishes) and equipment disruptions

  • Maintain and calibrate paint booths, spray guns, mixing systems, ventilation systems, multi-stage wash systems and ovens

  • Create PM schedule to perform routine maintenance on all equipment, tools, spray booths, spray guns mixing systems, ventilation systems, multi-stage wash systems and ovens

  • Cross functional collaboration with Safety, Quality and Maintenance departments to align goals

  • Maintaining data collection and reporting for production and regulatory compliance (EPA, OSHA, etc.) utilizing ERP system

We are looking for someone with:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent (GED)

  • 5 years' experience in paint and finishing processes including powder and dip, experience applying coatings to metal/steel surfaces preferred

  • 3 years of production supervisor experience

  • 3 years of manufacturing experience, steel industry preferred

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office products, excel, word, teams

  • ERP experience preferred

  • Knowledge of paint processes, flow, viscosity, paint quality inspection

  • Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks amid changing priorities

  • Detail oriented

  • Knowledge of hazardous waste management and disposal requirements

  • Ability to work flexible shifts to meet production requirements
