Amundsen Davis, a respected full-service business law firm, is seeking a highly organized and adaptable
Floating Legal Assistant
to support our attorneys across multiple practice areas. This role is ideal for a legal professional who enjoys variety, thrives in a fast-paced environment, and is comfortable supporting different attorneys and teams.

You will play a key role in ensuring continuity across departments by providing administrative and legal support where it is needed most—whether for ongoing matters, overflow, or coverage during staff absences.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare, draft, revise, and proofread legal documents such as pleadings, contracts, discovery, correspondence, and filings across various practice areas.
  • Manage calendars for multiple attorneys including scheduling meetings, court dates, deadlines, and travel arrangements.
  • Monitor and route incoming correspondence; ensure timely follow-up on requests and priorities.
  • Monitor and enter billable time, process expense reports, and assist with client billing review and edits.
  • Greet clients, answer phone calls, and triage inquiries with professionalism and discretion.
  • Provide coverage for legal assistants who are out of office or when extra support is needed.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications

  • Minimum of 8-10 yrs of litigation experience, working for a private law firm in a law firm setting as a legal assistant or legal secretary.
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; additional legal secretarial or paralegal training preferred.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Outlook, Excel); experience with iManage and Elite is a plus.
  • Ability to remain flexible, prioritize tasks, and handle shifting demands in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with a client-focused, team-oriented approach
  • This position requires regular and predictable in-office attendance.

What We Offer

  • Starting rate of pay $55,000 - $70,000 a year
