Tax Season Help Wanted

We are currently accepting resumes for tax season temporary positions, with the potential for permanent hire. These positions will run approximately January 2026 – April 2026. This is a great opportunity for students pursuing a career in public accounting to gain insight into what tax season is like. Tax season is fast paced and challenging, but also a fun time at Burkey Cox Evans & Bradford.

Front Desk Reception:

We are seeking a friendly, professional, and organized Front Desk Receptionist to join our team. In this role, you will be the first point of contact for our clients, visitors, and vendors — greeting and welcoming them, answering and directing incoming calls, and providing timely customer service. You will also manage day-to-day administrative duties: handling mail and deliveries, sorting and distributing correspondence, receiving client work, maintaining an orderly and presentable reception area, and any other duties, as assigned. Additional duties include light clerical support such as data-entry, filing, copying, and ordering office supplies when needed. The ideal candidate will have strong communication and interpersonal skills, basic computer proficiency, a professional demeanor, and the ability to multitask and handle a fast-paced environment with grace and efficiency.

Tax Return Assembler/ Admin:

We are looking for a reliable and detail-oriented Tax Return Assembler / Tax Administrative Assistant. In this role, you will support our tax department by gathering, organizing, and processing client tax documents; assembling complete tax returns (including forms, schedules, attachments, and signature pages) for paper or electronic filing. You will also assist with general administrative duties — assist with making outbound calls for missing information or documents ready for pick up and providing backup reception support when needed. The ideal candidate will be highly organized, proficient with office and tax-related software, able to manage multiple tasks under deadline pressure, and committed to maintaining client confidentiality and accuracy at all times.

Scanning Clerk:

The scanning clerk will be responsible for scanning and saving all pertinent information used to prepare the clients tax return including relevant documents into our secure data vault. This position will also assist other areas where needed, including filing client folders and information. The candidate that fill this position must be able to focus on the task at hand, must be detail-oriented and organized, and able to follow tasks through to completion.

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time

Pay: $ $20.00 per hour
