Position: Boarding/ General Practice Veterinary Assistant

TheBoarding Veterinary Assistant plays a vital role in caring for our boarding pets and supporting general practice patients. This hybrid position calls for flexibility, a collaborative spirit, and a genuine love for animals. You'll work closely with the boarding team, technicians, veterinarians, and client service representatives to ensure exceptional patient care and seamless operations.

This role is all about heart, teamwork, and being ready to help wherever needed. Daily checklists, restraining pets, and cleaning are the foundation, but it's the inter-staff communication, problem-solving, and culture-building that elevate this role to something truly impactful.

Eligibility Requirements

• Entry-level; prior pet handling experience preferred
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Strong multitasking and organizational skills
• Team-oriented, compassionate, and self-motivated
• Ability to lift 50 lbs and walk dogs up to 100 lbs
• Willing to work holidays, weekends, and flexible shifts
• No physical or medical limitations preventing job duties

Key Responsibilities

Patient Care & Clinical Support

• Support veterinarians and technicians with restraint, care, and procedures
• Use low-stress and fear-free techniques
• Maintain clean, well-stocked, and client-ready hospital areas
• Assist with sample collection and diagnostics under supervision
• Support client service with check-in/out and pet care education
• Adhere to hospital protocols, safety standards, and compliance
• Collaborate across departments to ensure smooth workflows
