About This Role

The Solutions Engineer at AppTier plays a key role in designing, developing, and implementing enterprise content management (ECM) solutions for our clients. This role combines technical architecture, hands-on development, and collaborative consulting to deliver scalable solutions within the OpenText Content Suite ecosystem. The Solutions Engineer partners closely with senior architects, consultants, and client stakeholders to translate business needs into high-quality technical solutions, while supporting system implementations, integrations, and ongoing system performance.

Core Responsibilities

• Design and implement enterprise content management (ECM) solutions using OpenText technologies.
• Build and support workflows, web forms, and business process solutions within OpenText Content Suite.
• Develop and maintain web-based interfaces (HTML5, JavaScript, jQuery, CSS, Bootstrap).
• Write and optimize SQL queries and reports; support database-driven applications.
• Lead or contribute to project delivery workstreams through the full IT lifecycle.
• Provide proactive and reactive system support and administration for OpenText environments.
• Collaborate with consultants and subject matter experts to analyze needs and deliver technical solutions.

Required Skills & Experience

• 2–5 years of IT development or consulting experience.
• Hands-on experience within an IT development lifecycle, including solution design and implementation.
• Proficiency in web development (HTML5, JavaScript, jQuery, XML, CSS) and API/integration development.
• Working knowledge of SQL and relational databases (Oracle, SQL Server).
• Understanding of software development lifecycles, project delivery, and documentation best practices.
• Familiarity with Windows Server environments and cloud-based applications.
• Strong analytical and communication skills, with the ability to translate business needs into technical solutions.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with OpenText Content Suite, AppWorks, Extended ECM, or related OpenText products.
• Background in enterprise consulting or IT project management roles.
• Knowledge of workflow automation, process applications, or content lifecycle management.
• Exposure to web infrastructure, system monitoring, or production support environments.
• Experience with deliverable and documentation creation in a client-facing context.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $110, $130,000.00 per year
