Key Responsibilities

As a Bookkeeper at Miller & Company, you'll be a key contributor to our success. Your responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:

  • Client Interaction: Communicate directly with clients to understand their needs and provide expert guidance on accounting matters.
  • Accounting & Financial Management: Prepare accurate financial statements for business clients, process payroll, manage sales tax returns, and prepare 1099 forms.
  • Software Expertise: Utilize QuickBooks (desktop and online) to manage client accounts, maintain financial records, and generate reports.
  • Other Duties: File/scanning, data entry, payroll processing, and other office-related tasks as needed.

Qualifications

To thrive in this role, you should have the following qualifications:

  • 5+ years of experience in a full-charge bookkeeping role at a public accounting firm.
  • Proficiency in QuickBooks (both Desktop and Online) is essential.
  • Advanced Excel skills (ability to work with formulas, pivot tables, etc.).
  • Strong understanding of accounting principles and practices.
  • Ability to work independently and efficiently, preparing accurate financials without supervision.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Experience with payroll processing, payroll tax returns, sales tax returns, and 1099 preparation.
  • Commercial rent tax return preparation is a plus.
  • High attention to detail and strong organizational skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and a collaborative team player mentality.

Pay: $55, $80,000.00 per year
