What to Expect

As Managing Director, Digital IT – CMLV & EE, you'll be at the forefront of digital transformation and business systems innovation, driving strategic initiatives across the commercial value chain. You'll lead a high-performing team, shape enterprise architecture, and partner with senior leaders to deliver impactful technology solutions. This role spans the entire Commercial value chain—including Global Trading, U.S. Scheduling, Global Market Analysis, Midstream Commercial (NGL), Global Marine, Surface Transportation Logistics, Risk & Compliance, Commercial FP&A, and Accounting Operations. In addition, the position provides digital leadership and support to adjacent businesses such as Aviation, Lubes, and Emerging Energy. Your work will directly influence profitability, operational excellence, and the future direction of the organization.

What You'll Do

Strategic Leadership & Transformation

Define and implement enterprise architecture and digital strategy aligned with corporate goals.

Lead development and execution of digital IT strategies, anticipating complex issues and driving change.

Advise leadership on policy implementation and strategic initiatives, contributing creative insights.

Business & Operational Management

Oversee application operations, project delivery, and digital transformation for the Commercial business.

Develop and manage annual plans, budgets, and business cases for key projects.

Drive operational excellence, continuous improvement, and cybersecurity compliance.

Ensure transparency and efficiency in IT operations, including vendor and stakeholder management.

Team Leadership & Talent Development

Lead and develop a team of ~100 employees and contractors, fostering inclusion and clear communication.

Set objectives, manage performance, and provide coaching and mentoring to build organizational capability.

Define structure and senior management responsibilities to achieve business objectives.

Stakeholder Engagement & Partnership

Build strong partnerships across Commercial business, Digital IT, vendors, and service providers.

Manage stakeholder needs and engagement plans to support business decisions.

Serve as advisor for programs impacting business areas, ensuring alignment and integration.

What You'll Bring (Required Qualifications)

Extensive experience in solution architecture, including the design, development, and deployment of complex technologies

Proven track record leading large-scale business and functional transformation programs supporting Commercial organizations, from inception through deployment and ongoing support

Extensive experience in solution architecture, including the design, development, and deployment of multiple energy trading technologies (e.g., RightAngle, Openlink Endur)

Deep business insight, strategic mindset, and ability to manage complexity

Bachelor's Degree in a technical or business discipline

15+ years of relevant experience, including leadership roles

10+ years of front-line supervisory experience

Strong understanding of service organization costing and budgeting

Excellent verbal and written communication skills

Willingness to travel up to 20%

Compensation Range:
$295,200 - $360,800 annual salary
