Direct Support Professional

Overview
We are seeking compassionate and dedicated Direct Support Professionals to provide high-quality care and assistance to individuals with diverse needs. This role involves supporting clients in their daily activities, promoting independence, and ensuring a safe and respectful environment. Ideal candidates will have experience in assisted living, patient care, or related fields, and possess a genuine desire to make a positive impact on people's lives.

Duties

• Assist clients with daily living activities such as bathing, dressing, and grooming
• Support with medication administration following prescribed protocols
• Provide companionship and emotional support to individuals with disabilities, dementia, or in hospice care
• Help with meal preparation and feeding as needed
• Perform light housekeeping tasks including cleaning and maintaining a safe environment
• Assist with mobility and heavy lifting to ensure client safety
• Monitor health status and report any concerns to healthcare professionals
• Support clients in participating in community activities and outings to promote social engagement
• Follow care plans tailored to each individual's needs and preferences

Requirements

• Prior experience in assisted living, nursing home, hospice, or home care is preferred
• Knowledge of patient care, dementia care, senior care, or working with people with disabilities is highly desirable
• Ability to perform heavy lifting and assist with mobility safely
• Strong caregiving skills combined with patience, empathy, and excellent communication skills
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment
• Certification or training in medication administration is a plus but not required
• Flexibility to work various shifts including evenings or weekends if needed
• Commitment to providing respectful and person-centered care that promotes dignity and independence

Pay: Up to $19.00 per hour
