Job SummaryThe Warehouse Associate plays a vital role in supporting Brite Electric's construction operations by performing safe, organized, and efficient warehouse duties under the direction of the Warehouse Manager. Responsibilities include transporting materials, tools, and prefabricated assemblies between the warehouse and job sites, maintaining inventory and equipment, and producing project-specific electrical assemblies. This position requires strong attention to detail, mechanical aptitude, and a commitment to safety, quality, and teamwork in a fast-paced construction environment.
Key Responsibilities:Transportation:
- Safely transport construction materials, tools, and equipment between the warehouse and job sites.
- Load and unload vehicles, ensuring items are properly secured and protected.
- Perform vehicle inspections and minor maintenance to ensure cleanliness and roadworthiness.
- Maintain a clean driving record and adhere to all traffic laws and company vehicle policies.
- Promptly report delivery issues, vehicle malfunctions, or incidents to the Warehouse Manager.
- Interact professionally with colleagues, vendors, and clients during all transport activities.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organized warehouse environment.
- Assist with accurate inventory of tools, equipment, and materials using company procedures.
- Assist with loading and unloading deliveries.
- Pick, pack, and prepare orders accurately for delivery.
- Assist in receiving, inspecting, and verifying incoming and outgoing shipments.
- Operate warehouse equipment such as forklifts and pallet jacks safely and efficiently.
- Follow all safety procedures and protocols when using tools and equipment, including using personal protective equipment (PPE) when necessary.
- Construct electrical construction assemblies in accordance with project specifications and company standards.
- Maintain clean and organized workstations and prefabrication areas.
- Assist with tracking production, quality checks, storage, and delivery of prefabricated kits to project sites.
- Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Experience as a driver or warehouse associate, preferably in a construction or electrical contracting environment.
- Mechanical aptitude and trade-related experience.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to follow written and verbal instructions.
- Strong organizational and time-management skills.
- Ability to operate and maintain various types of vehicles, such as pick-up trucks, box trucks, and vans.
- Proficiency with basic hand tools and warehouse equipment (e.g., pallet jacks, forklifts).
- Ability to lift and move heavy objects (up to 50 lbs.) and work on your feet throughout the shift.
- Basic knowledge of electrical materials and tools.
- Ability to use web-based systems and basic computer programs.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Willingness to work occasional evenings or weekends as required.
