About Facility:

o 1 Medical Center Blvd, Winston-Salem, NC 27157

o 885 licensed beds

o Level 1 Trauma Designation

o Teaching Hospital: Yes, Academic Medical Center

o Chest Pain Center

o Stroke Center

Department Information:

o 8 rooms specific to Interventional Radiology

o Average patients/day? 45-50 cases

o Minimum Years of Experience required: 2 years specific to IR Body/IR Neuro at a Level 1 Trauma Center

o Will you accept a first-time traveler? Yes

Patient Types/Common Diagnoses:

o Interventional Radiology Comprehensive Stroke Center

o Stroke, Cancer, Tumors, occlusions-Peripheral, Carotid, IVC, SVC, etc.

Neuro: Stroke, Ruptures, Subdural fistulas

(3 Neurosurgeons & 1 Neuroradiologist)

Body: Traumas,complex embolization, thrombectomy, thrombolysis, sclerotherapy, Y-90, Sir spheres, biopsies and various drainage and access procedures. 7 Providers & 4 APP's

Required License, National Certification, Certifications (BLS, ACLS, NIHSS, etc.), or other position specific requirements such as Driver's License and/or Insurance:

o IR Tech: BLS; ARRT-R or RCIS

Skills required:

o Scrubbing and assisting in procedures; Circulating-operating equipment, providing needed supplies

Support within the Department:

o Tech extenders 3 currently on staff to assist with room turnover, paperwork, transport & inventory. 2 per day.

o 2 Techs per Room with RN

o 4 Neuro providers Neuro Radiologist and 3 Neurosurgeons

o 7 Body Docs

Technology/Equipment:

o EMR: EPIC Encompass

o Department specific Equipment: Siemens, GE and Philips imaging systems and GE US Units

Floating: If yes, where?

o No

Orientation (facility and unit):

o Up to 2 weeks

Scheduling:

o Questions can be clarified with Manager during final interview

o Shifts: 3-12's, 4-10's , or 5-8's

o Call required:

3-4 Call days per month

Weekend call-every 5th-6th weekend hours will be from Fri approx. 1630 to Monday at 0800

o Holiday Expectations: 75% Holidays must work if scheduled

o RTO Requests: Manager approval

o Schedule cycle: every 4-6 weeks

o Department Culture: Very green with new grads need to be comfortable with new grads and preceptorship, if needed
