We are seeking an energetic and experienced General Manager to lead our Extended Stay America Columbus property. . This pivotal role involves overseeing daily hotel functions, driving guest satisfaction, managing staff, and ensuring the property's financial success. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills, hospitality expertise, and a passion for creating memorable guest experiences.
Responsibilities
- Lead all aspects of hotel operations, including front desk management, guest services, housekeeping, maintenance, and food & beverage where applicable.
- Supervise and motivate staff to deliver exceptional customer service while maintaining high standards of hospitality.
- Oversee revenue management strategies to maximize occupancy rates and profitability through effective pricing and promotional initiatives.
- Manage human resources functions such as hiring, training, performance evaluations, and ensuring compliance with employment laws.
- Maintain budgetary controls by monitoring expenses, controlling costs, and implementing efficient operational procedures.
- Foster positive guest relations by addressing concerns promptly and ensuring a welcoming environment for all visitors.
- Oversee night audit procedures, multi-line phone systems, phone etiquette, and front desk operations to ensure smooth guest check-in/out processes.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree – Hospitality/Hotel Management or Business Administration preferred.
- A Certified Hospitality Administratordesignation is preferred, but not required.
- Minimum 2+ years work experience. Proven supervising experience in hotel or resort management with a strong background in hospitality operations.
- Demonstrated leadership skills with the ability to motivate teams and drive results.
- Knowledge of revenue management techniques and budgeting practices within the hospitality industry.
- Excellent customer service skills with a focus on guest relations and complaint resolution.
- Experience with human resources functions including hiring, training, and staff development.
- Familiarity with hotel management systems, night audit procedures, front desk operations, and multi-line phone systems.
- Strong communication skills with professional phone etiquette and interpersonal abilities.
