Position Overview:
MP Design Group is seeking a highly motivated and skilled Electrical Engineer to support our growing portfolio of projects in the municipal, educational, commercial, and industrial sectors. In this role, you will be responsible for the design, analysis, and documentation of building electrical systems—from concept through construction. You'll collaborate with architects, other engineering disciplines, and clients to deliver thoughtful, code-compliant, and cost-effective solutions.

Key Responsibilities:
- Develop electrical one-line diagrams and power distribution systems.
- Write and maintain project-specific electrical specifications.
- Conduct field investigations and site visits to evaluate existing conditions and gather data.
- Prepare scopes of work based on site assessments and client requirements.
- Perform and document short-circuit, coordination, and arc-flash studies.
- Review project submittals and shop drawings for design compliance.
- Design and lay out power, lighting, fire alarm, and low-voltage systems.
- Conduct lighting calculations using industry-standard tools to meet required light levels.
- Perform branch circuiting and prepare accurate panel schedules.
- Coordinate electrical systems with architectural, mechanical, and structural components.
- Assist in fire alarm system design and develop associated specifications.
- Design building low-voltage systems including communications, security, and access control.
- Support construction administration activities as needed.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related field.
- 4 or more years of experience in electrical design preferred
- Proficiency with AutoCAD; knowledge of Revit MEP is a plus.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook).
- Working knowledge of the National Electric Code (NEC) and applicable local codes.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines effectively.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Willingness to pursue Professional Engineer (PE) licensure.
