Role Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled Digital Marketing Strategist to join our team. This is a senior, strategy-led role that blends holistic digital marketing strategy with expert-level paid media conceptualization, messaging development, and creative direction.
The ideal candidate is a strategic thinker who can design comprehensive digital marketing strategies while also owning the strategic direction of paid media efforts. This role is responsible for defining audiences, campaign objectives, funnel structure, messaging, ad copy, and creative direction across paid channels, while partnering with internal teams for execution. This role does not involve building ads, launching campaigns, or producing creative assets.
Key Responsibilities
In this role, you will:
- Lead strategic discovery by gathering and analyzing key business, offer, audience, and market inputs.
- Develop comprehensive, data-informed digital marketing strategies aligned with client objectives and agency standards.
- Design integrated digital marketing ecosystems that align paid media with email marketing, website experience, and organic channels.
- Own paid media strategy and conceptualization across Meta (Facebook & Instagram), Google (Search, Display, YouTube), TikTok, LinkedIn, YouTube
- Define audiences, campaign objectives, funnel structure, and budget allocation by platform.
- Write high-quality, conversion-focused ad copy as part of campaign strategy, including hooks, primary messaging, CTAs, and variations.
- Provide clear creative direction to internal teams for video and graphic assets used in paid campaigns.
- Analyze marketing and paid media performance, diagnose issues, and recommend strategic optimizations.
- Document strategy clearly and hand off direction to execution teams using agency systems and workflows.
- Manage multiple client strategies simultaneously while maintaining organization, visibility, and proactive internal communication.
- Stay current on digital marketing trends, platform changes, and best practices, evolving strategy as needed.
Tools & Technology Proficiency
This role requires comfort operating in a modern, remote agency environment, including:
- Google Workspace (Docs, Sheets, Slides, Drive) for documentation and collaboration
- Slack for internal team communication
- Zoom for internal and client-facing meetings
- Loom for asynchronous communication and strategic walkthroughs
- Project management tools such as Notion and/or Nifty for task management and workflow visibility
- Ability to quickly learn and adapt to additional tools and systems as needed
Skills & Qualifications
- Proven experience in digital marketing strategy, growth strategy, and paid media strategy roles.
- Deep understanding of integrated digital marketing systems and how channels work together.
- Expert-level paid media strategic knowledge across Meta, Google, TikTok, LinkedIn, and YouTube.
- Strong copywriting ability for paid media, with a focus on strategy and messaging rather than execution.
- Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, including client-facing strategy presentations.
- Highly organized, self-directed, and comfortable managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced agency environment.
