Position Overview
This project establishes California's Registered Apprenticeship Hub (RAH), creating and expanding pre-apprenticeship and Registered Apprenticeship programs that prepare Californians for high-demand public sector roles.
The Communications Specialist will support a variety of communication needs on behalf of state and federal grant projects managed by NextGen Policy. This role will develop visually engaging and accessible materials—such as social media posts, digital content, flyers, PowerPoint slide decks, and website landing page templates. The Specialist will serve as the point person for the communications components of assigned projects while collaborating closely with the broader grant team.
In addition to core communications work, the ideal candidate will also assist with planning and coordinating project-related events, such as convenings, roundtables, and stakeholder discussions. The role may also support simple data-gathering efforts by developing stakeholder surveys and helping summarize results.
This is a full-time position fully funded by federal grants. Continued employment is contingent upon ongoing grant funding. Additional workforce initiative projects may be added to the scope pending future grant awards.
